But FIRST- how about a look at one (of two) more layouts using this month's kit??

This is Wyatt on his last day of Preschool. On Facebook, I shared this photo side-by-side with his first day of Preschool photo- and it was shocking to see how much he'd grown! He's looking so much more like a little gentleman every day...

A First Peek at the July Kit from C'est Magnifique~!

Hello, my friends :). I've been busy creating projects for CHA, so I've been a bit quiet- and I apologize :). Just so much to do and not enough time, as always. But thank-you for taking the time out of your own busy lives to come and visit me :)!

Today I have for you a first look at the July Kit from C'est Magnifique. So let's begin!

"16 Years"
This is a very special photo of my dad and me. June 3rd marked 16 years since he passed away, and that day in particular is especially difficult for me. One moment I will be fine and the next...well, I'm not so fine. So I took the time that day to write a little note to him and created this layout.

In July, you will find paper from two manufacturers in our kit and it is a combination that works so well together.  First, we have the bold black and cream "My Dear Watson" collection from a Polish company,  UHK Gallery.  We have added the soft elegance of several sheets from the "On This Day" collection from the Australian manufacturer, KaiserCraft.  If you are interested in purchasing the Paper Add-on, it can be found HERE in our store.

Our kits are filled with amazing embellishments, but if you are the type of scrapper who likes a little (or a lot) of extras, then our add-ons are perfect for you.  We reveal our add-ons early since they sell out quickly.  You can always get on our list to receive either, or both, of the add-ons each month by e-mailing leslie{at}cestmagnifiquekits.com.  Here are the add-ons for our July Kit.

July Flower Add-on

Here's what's in this add-on.  A few of the items are also available individually in the store:
Maya Road: Vintage Edge Mum: Antique Pink
Prima: Queen Mary: Buttermint
Prima: Sunrise: Mini Sachet
Prima: Lyric: Daisies
Prima: Lyric: Flowers
Prima: Almanac: Gracie Vine

July Embellishment Add-on

You will find these embellishments in this add-on.  A few of them are also available individually:

In just a couple of days, we will be revealing the full kit- so stay tuned!

Have a wonderful weekend :)!

"Love These Memories": PaperHaus Tutorial

Hello everyone!

I'm back again today with a layout created for the PaperHaus Magazine blog, and I have yet another tutorial for you, this time focusing on how to use die cuts/hand cut elements to create a collage-style background. Many paper collections come with those sheets that are just full of fun little things to cut out, just like the amazing "Lifetime" & "Engraver" collections from Prima. If you can't choose just one or two images (or die cuts) to use- why not choose them all?! Collage work is fun and there's really not a wrong way of doing it.

"Love These Memories"
This is a photo of my niece Lilah and myself when my sister Kelly and her girls came to visit me at my new house for the first time last month. She helped me fill my bird feeders and I just loved having such a sweet little helper!

Let's get started on the tutorial, shall we?

Products Used:

Patterned Papers: Prima Marketing & Pink Paislee
Flowers: Prima Marketing
Embellishments: Prima Marketing
Border Punch: Martha Stewart
Masks: Prima Marketing & The Crafter's Workshop
Stamps: Webster's Pages
Mists: Tattered Angels
Medium: Golden Modeling Paste
Other: seam binding, masking tape

I hope you were able to pick up a tip or two! Why not go and try your own hand at some collage work~ you just might love it :)

Thanks for stopping in!

Webster's Pages: Recap: Modern Romance

Good morning, my scrappy friends!

I've just gotten back from a week-long stay at the in-laws' and wanted to thank everyone for their support over my exciting recent announcement :). It was not easy to be gone and away from internet during that time, but it was fun to come back and read all the amazing comments- thank you!!

With Summer CHA coming up, we know you're just itching for those sneaks and reveals of NEW products- but today at Webster's Pages we're doing a little recap of the Winter 2013 collections, and so I've created yet another project using the incredible Modern Romance range. I cannot count how many times I've had the privilege of creating with this collection- and I still have yet to tire of it! I love the classic beauty in every Webster's Pages line, and this one is certainly no different :)!

"A Beautiful Day"
This is a photo of my little girly pants and myself on Mother's Day :). She's such a sweet dolly- what joy she has brought to our lives!

I really put my craft knife to work on this one! I just love the large circles on the "Carving Our Name" paper from the Modern Romance collection:

I've used elements from the Modern Romance 6x6 Collection Pad in addition to the 12x12 papers to create some of the smaller accents, such as this little cameo.

I love how nicely the cameos layer with the frames! This Mother/Child cameo just touches my heart :)

Products Used:

Papers
Embellishments
Modern Romance Sentiment Stickers
Perfect Accents Resin Frames

Trims

Thank-you, thank-you for coming on by today! It's so good to be back- I'm excited to have a few "normal" weeks before heading off to Summer CHA!! Yes, have I yet mentioned that?? Well, I am! My sister Kelly and I are both taking off for a week to attend CHA for the very first time- what an adventure :)...

See ya back here tomorrow ;)

Take care,

"Smile Big" {PaperHaus} Tutorial

Hello there, friends :)!

I'm back again today with a new project, this time for PaperHaus. I decided to create a tutorial on layering...everything.
Literally.

Check it out :)

"Smile Big"
Ahh...my adorable little guy...suffering through endless picture taking by mommy :). Poor thing- all he wanted to do was ride his bike- but who could resist the evening lighting? Not me! He was patient...but smiling he was not! Ha!

Here's my tutorial:

I hope you enjoyed this little step-by-step :)
I often hear people say that they just don't know "how" to layer...so I tried to break it down as easily as I could. Thanks so much for checking it out.

See ya soon~!
Take care,

3 Projects for Blue Fern Studios~!

Hi, everyone!

I have three different types of projects for you showcasing several Blue Fern Studios chipboard pieces and I'm going to walk you through how I was inspired by them :)

Let's get started!

"Climb Up"
I really wanted to put to use some of the "longer" pieces such as the 12" Calligraphic Border and the 12" Page Chains.

I pieced them apart to suit my project.

I especially love how the Calligraphic Border placed vertically pulls the eye to my son's tree climbing scene :)

Blue Fern Studios Products Used:

Calligraphic Border

Page Chains

Fancy Fob Watch

"Laughter" {Tag}
For this tag, I was inspired by the empty spaces within the chipboard pieces. All 3 pieces used here were backed with paper, filled with glossy accents and then a variety of beads.

Blue Fern Studios Products Used:

Brigitte Butterfly Set

Vintage Keys

Ironwork Accents

"Blessings" {Card}
I wanted to create a "stacked" look with this card, so after layering my papers I proceeded to layer my chipboard pieces as well. I used a chicken wire stamp to decorate the bottom layer before applying a turquoise chalk ink to the Vintage Lock and topping it with glossy accents, and then finally randomly applied some ink to the title piece.

Blue Fern Studios Products Used:

Regal Ornaments

Vintage Locks

Spiritually Speaking

Thank-you for checking out my projects today!
If you haven't yet, make sure to check out the June Sketch Challenge~ still plenty of time to play along :)

Take care~!
